'NO ONE HAS EVER REACHED ITS BOTTOM'

Enchanted River is found in Philippines. It is called “enchanted” because no one has ever reached its bottom. Many people, including scuba divers, have tried reaching for the bottom but have failed, hence the legend of its bottomless pit. Moreover, locals share that NOBODY has been successful in catching the fish in this river, whether by hand or by spear.

They say its bluish color is a result of its depth and the water clarity changes throughout the day. At around 12:00 pm, the water becomes clearer and even more majestic.

Blood River, Devil's Pulpit, Gartness, Scotland

Devil’s Pulpit is located about 200 yards off Deerberry Lane in the Blood River bottoms.  This rock formation sits up high on a steep hill overlooking the valley below.  Situated at about 500 feet above sea level, the pulpit rises 130 feet above the river and provides a great vista.  The only sign of civilization is a communications tower in the distance.  Various types of trees can be seen everywhere, with a few of them even growing on top of the rock.

River of Milk

Natural latex polluted more than a mile of a stretch of the Quxi River in Wenzhou City, at southeastern China, turning it into what was described as a ‘river of milk’. A layer of a white oily substance was floating on the surface of the river, and local resident thought if the water had been mixed with milk. The head of the local Environmental Protection Office blamed the pollution on a trading company, which loads and unloads latex into the river. Quoting from what the local press said, “The pollutant was identified as natural emulsion … the milk-white natural emulsion contained no biochemical toxicity.” Well then, the authorities might think the water is safe to use. Early this year, the pollution in China’s southern region sparked panic buying of bottled water after a mining firm dumped toxic cadmium into a river.
