  • Ban Gioc–Detian Falls - China

Ban Gioc – Detian Falls  are 2 waterfalls on the Quay Sơn River or Guichun River straddling the Sino-Vietnamese border, located in the Karst hills of Daxin County in the Chongzuo prefecture-level city of Guangxi Province, on the Chinese side, and in the district of Trung Khanh District, Cao Bang province on the Vietnamese side, 272 km north of Hanoi.

    Ban Gioc–Detian Falls - China

The waterfall drops thirty meters. It is separated into three falls by rocks and trees, and the thundering effect of the water hitting the cliffs can be heard from afar.

    Ban Gioc–Detian Falls - China

It is currently the 4th largest waterfall along a national border, after Iguazu Falls, Victoria Falls, and Niagara Falls and was one of the crossing points for China’s army during the brief Sino-Vietnamese War. Nearby there is the Tongling Gorge accessible only through a cavern from an adjoining gorge. Rediscovered only recently, it has many species of endemic plants, found only in the gorge, and in the past was used as a hideout by local bandits, whose treasure is occasionally still found in the cliff-side caves.

    Ban Gioc–Detian Falls - China

A road running along the top of the falls leads to a stone marker that demarcates the border between China and Vietnam in French and Chinese. Modern disputes arose as there are discrepancies as to the correlating legal documents on border demarcation and the placement of markers between the French and Qing administrations in the 19th century.

  • Merlin’s Well, Cornwall, England

Merlin’s Well, Cornwall, England, cave is a great place for kids to explore and excite them with stories of Merlin :-) It goes all the way under the island that Tintagel Castle is on. But be careful you don't get stranded by the tides as the cave gets filled with water. The pebbles in the cave are a beautiful shimmery slate. A fun...

  • Hunza Valley

The Hunza is a mountainous valley in the Gilgit–Baltistan region of Pakistan. The Hunza is situated north/west of the Hunza River, at an elevation of around 2,500 metres. The territory of Hunza is about 7,900 square kilometres.

Entering the different lush green valleys is like a dream. Like little green dots of an oasis in between the arid rock deserts of the Karakoram, Himalaya and Hindu kush mountain ranges. Apricot, cherry and walnut trees welcome you from far away.

Nearly each of these valleys once were independent kingdoms - even today they speak their own languages, sometimes the languages differ within viewing range from one side to the other of one and the same valley.

  • Waterfall Castle,Poland

Waterfall Castle in Poland has got to be the epitome of the fairly-tale, dream-life castle. Look at it, I can just see days of letting my hair cascade down my window waiting for a prince while a slew of dwarfs and woodland creatures are busy doing housework...but as always I'm getting away from the point. The point is creating a space worthy of a princess and not an over-done bubblegum interpretation of what a princess's room should be but a space with refinement and the perfect amount of pink. I love the scale of this castle, it isn't over the top with it's detailing which allows the waterfall and other natural elements to blend seamlessly into the architecture. Creating that balance in my inspiration board below was my main focus for this design.

  • Font Devil at Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls, or "Rumbling smoke" is in South Africa on the Zambezi River between the countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe. One of the most popular tourist features of the waterfall is the Devil's baptismal font - a natural body of water, which is located at the edge of the waterfall, which you can reach the island of Livingstone in Zambia. When the water level in the river reaches a certain level in the period from September to December, a rocky barrier forms a "pool", which are very fond of thrill-seekers. Unfortunately, the pool though is the culprit of several deaths.

  • McWay Falls, Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, Near Big Sur, California

McWay Falls is an 80-foot waterfall located in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park that flows year-round. This waterfall is one of only two in the region that are close enough to the ocean to be referred to as "tidefalls", the other being Alamere Falls. The source of the waterfall is McWay Creek and is one of the few waterfalls that empties directly into the ocean. Originally the waterfall cascaded directly into the ocean but after a 1983 fire and 1985 landslides, the topography of McWay Cove was altered, forming an inaccessible beach. The waterfall now meets the ocean when the tide is in.
