Djenne mosque in Timbuktu, Mali

The mosque of Djenné is the largest mud-built structure of the earth. Surrounded by the colorful markets and madrasas (schools exactly where children learn the Koran), this mosque is like an apparition which bears witness to its rich history. The ruins of Djenne-Jeno and bogolan mud cloth are some of the most popular attractions and get goods in Djenné.
