Road 59, also known as the Chalous Road or Kandovan Road, is an important road for people of Tehran, a large number of whom drive to popular tourist attractions in the north of Iran on weekends and for holidays. This road is one of the busiest roads in Iran.
Here are some breathtaking pics of Chalus Road. Chalus Road comes in the category of the most famous roads of the world. It's one of the most beautiful roads (and at some points dangerous because of the mountainous terrain) in Chalus, a suburb of Tehran, the Iranian capital. It's a good twisting asphalt road which also connects the city of Karaj with Tehran. It displays a variety of sceneries from green to snow clad surroundings to rocky mountains in the north.
This clip was taken in summer of 2006, driving from Chaloos to Tehran, you can see Kandevan tunnel and Karj Dam
