Harmandir Sahib or as some people call Darbar Sahib premises but it is also well known as the Golden Temple is located in the city of Amritsar Punjab India. The Golden Temple, built in 1574 and after it has become the Gurdwara (Like the church or mosque a place for prey to God for the Sikh Community) and central religious place for the Sikh community.
The temple is surrounded by a large lake where the water is called water and Sikhs Holly giving importance and take it with them when every time you visit here. The mean plants are planted earlier temple with gold so now people also call it the Golden Temple. There are four doors on each side of the temple to represent humanity that people in the community may enter the temple and worship God. The interior is beautifully decorated with works Fresco and gems that give a very luxurious and historic.
Inside the temple the people of any religion, sex, country or color can get in, but there are some rules to follow if you visit this place. As believe Sikh Golden Temple is a sacred place and everyone should respect it. Some rules are as drinking alcohol is strictly forbidden to smoke or eat meat. People have to take off your shoes and wash their foots in the lake water before entering inside the temple. That Cover the head with a cap or scarf is also important to take with you or you can get it while visiting the temple.
If you are visiting first time you can get the information from public office next to the temple, and do not forget to see the Central Sikh Museum at the entrance of the Golden Temple.
